Welcome to the Division of Public Health and Primary Health Care, which is comprised of the University Department of Public Health and the University Department of Primary Health Care. The departments work closely together with a single administration and have 257 staff (in Aug-09) based in a number of different buildings around Old Road Campus. The Division is funded by a wide range of sponsors and is one of the most active and successful departments in the University’s Medical Sciences Division.
Department of Public Health
Current research projects are concerned with the epidemiology and prevention of a number of chronic diseases and with the organisation and evaluation of medical care.

Department of Primary Health Care
The department undertakes undergraduate clinical teaching in general practice and conducts research in cardiovascular disease, cancer, infectious disease and diabetes.
